MySpace Launches New Image Search Facility

MySpace has brought in a brand new search facility to do with images. This new feature has been put into its combined search engine. The image search facility will enable users to look through pictures shared amongst buddies as well as the MySpace public swiftly and efficiently. This new facility has not been declared in an official capacity by MySpace as yet. However MySpace has validated the fact that it just went live. It is said to have categorised about 3 billion of MySpace’s pictures, the total number of pictures being 7 billion.

The integration of this new feature onto MySpace’s search engine shows MySpace’s seemingly growing attention on its search engine. This search engine even incorporates MySpace’s video and audio data and even includes an Internet search facility powered by Google.

MySpace users are provided with the choice or going through pictures shared by their pals along with the option of going through images having public access for other users of MySpace to see them or pictures on Photobucket. Photobucket was taken over in 2007 by the parent company of MySpace. According to MySpace the results will be displayed via a “social lense”. This simply means that the search engine concentrates on the keywords (in a users profile) and on the users friends in order to come up with the most fitting results.
