Facebook to Revoke Changes in Terms of Service

Bowing down to pressure from almost all quarters, Facebook has decided to revoke the changes it made in its Terms of Service (TOS). This was reported by the online edition of the Wall Street Journal.

The changes that were made received a lot of flak from blogs and other media outlets. Such news usually spreads very fast and the rising intensity of the criticism proved more than enough for Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg to say the following on his blog: “Going forward, we’ve decided to take a new approach towards developing our terms. We concluded that returning to our previous terms was the right thing for now. As I said yesterday, we think that a lot of the language in our terms is overly formal and protective so we don’t plan to leave it there for long.”

The post makes reference to the whole scenario and presents the social network’s obligation to revoke the changes that were introduced after February 4. This is another instance where Facebook has tried to do something against the users and privacy supporters. The users of Facebook, from hereon, can keep an eye on what the social network gets up to.

The social network can either work to achieve the faith of its clients by looking at other options to monetise its deal or it can try to implement things that will go past the users again. Since the company is so large, it may be possible that it does not feel that users would quit using the site.
