YouTube Now Forms Quarter of All Google Searches

Looking for videos on the YouTube website provides for one fourth of the total of all Google search inquiries. This statistic is as per the most recent search engine figures by ‘comScore’. The ‘qSearch’ statement which is provided by comScore every month, and was handed out on Thursday night, discusses how many queries were carried out on the YouTube website.

In the case of YouTube being a website that stands on its own, it would most likely be the second biggest search site, and would rank under Google. A lot more search queries are carried out via the YouTube site than via the Yahoo website, according to a study for the last couple of months.

The following is an extract from a report made by Christa Quarles, who works as an analyst for Thomas Weisel Partners. In the report, it says that:

“YouTube continues to be a standout contributor for Google generating 2.73 billion searches in the U.S., up 8.5% from 2.52 billion last month and up 114% from 1.28 billion in November 2007. YouTube currently represents 25.4% of U.S. Google site searches compared with 17.4% in November 2007 and is larger than all of Yahoo based on total U.S. queries in November.”
