Yahoo May Shutdown MyWeb

MyWeb is a Bookmark service and personalised start page which, in many ways, is similar to iGoogle. Yahoo recently announced that it is planning to shut down the service from March 19.
The move is a definite part of the search engine giant’s reformation process. The web based application was launched by Yahoo sometime back in 2005. The purpose of launching it was that users should be able to save the information that they can find on the Internet. It is very similar to Delicious and Yahoo Bookmarks, which recently underwent a makeover.

However, MyWeb is not as popular as Delicious and Yahoo Bookmarks are and consequently not widely used. Hence, it is rather logical that Yahoo does away with this service and focuses completely on making further enhancements in Delicious. So, users who are still carrying out their operations on MyWeb have three ways to shift all of the information they have on MyWeb.

They can start using Yahoo Bookmarks as all MyWeb accounts can be accessed through the former. They can also shift over to Delicious by following the three indispensable steps. Users also have the option of completely changing their bookmark service. They can do this by exporting all the information on some other service with the assistance of Yahoo’s expert tools
