Singular Keywords Influence the Search
A debate is currently going on as to which keywords send more traffic to the websites, and the answer is still elusive. But if you run any pair of words like pen(s) or book(s) through the system, the search engine will always show up the plural form below the singular form’s streak. The idea of going plural by default appears to be wrong when one looks at the data thrown by Google Trends.
However, a leading SEO firm recently suggested that it is better to use plural terms while optimizing websites for search engines. According to the study, using plural terms was more beneficial in generating website traffic.
This report was supported by many bloggers who urged webmasters to consider plural form of keywords since it was proved to send more traffic. Therefore, it was suggested that Google is considering a broad match which will throw millions of phrases which contained ‘laptop’ and fall under laptop search.
The report had primarily considered keywords pertaining only to shopping and classified sites for its study. Its findings, therefore, bring no good news for blogs and other sites which do not sell products or services.
