Site Search: With concerns by publishers about users leaving their sites through Websearch, now you can choose to provide just site search option for the users. Also, you can host the search results on your own web pages, which will allow users to find the information without navigating away from your site.
Refined indexing of the pages: Google has recently enhanced its indexing technology to help you provide a more enhanced site search experience to your users. Adsense for search will now index even more pages that belong to your site, as long as it is able to crawl them. This will enable your users to see more results from your website in your Adsense for search results.
Vertical Search: You can allow your users search across multiple sites selected by you, which could be a network of your own sites or which you think your users might be interested in.
Refining searches with keywords: Since search terms can have different meaning in different situations, you can also tailor your search results and ads to your site content. For example, if your manage a yoga related website, following keywords such as ‘yoga’, ‘exercise’, and ‘meditation’ can be entered so that when a user searches for ‘mat’, the search results and ads will relate more to yoga mats in comparison with commercial floor mats.
Selecting ad location: The AdSense for search allows you to decide the location for your ads on search results pages. Google recommends placing ads at the right side and at the top of the page as it monetizes the best for publishers.
Setting up AdSense for search on your website is easy. All you need to do is visit your AdSense Setup tab and select ‘AdSense for search’ as your product. As soon as you create a new search engine, your settings get saved in your account automatically, with an option to go back later and quickly make any updates without regenerating the code.
