A new feature called Google Trends for Website has been added by Google Trends, the search trend analytics for Google. Where statistics for search keywords in Google by specific time frame or search trends are measured and displayed by Google Trends, the traffic that a particular site receives over a specific time frame is displayed by Google Trends for Website.

The traffic statistics that is given by Google Trends for Website is similar to that given by comScore, Compete, and Alexa. It lets the user see, in a simple graphical representation, the number of unique view, and also lets them specify websites whose comparative chart of the unique views will be displayed by Google Trends.

Apart from this, there is some additional data that gets displayed by Google Trends, which might be useful for SEM practitioners. This data shows a site’s traffic per region. It also displays other related sites that users visited, along with the search terms that direct them to their websites.

Google Trends for Website is a simple and useful tool. However, it is to be noted that not all sites would have their data available when they search for it in Google Trends for Website. This is because Google has a pre-defined volume of traffic that a site should necessarily have for it to show relevant site traffic information.
