Google to Offer Internet Usage Measuring Tool to Advertisers

Internet search engine giant continues to retain its supremacy by offering different things to its advertisers from time to time. It is all set to offer advertisers a free service which measures usage of Internet. The service will pose challenge to Web measurement leaders, comScore and Nielesen, which charge exorbitantly for providing this type of data.

The measuring tool will help advertisers to locate best spots on the web and buy ads that will reach the target audience. In return the overture will help Google attract more and more ad-sales business.

Google spokesman informed that audience measurement attributes are aimed at providing better media planning tools to its customers. The results of the new tool would be based on data collected from web servers and will present broad picture of Internet usage as compared to selective surveys conducted by comScore and Nielesen. In recent times advertiser and publishers were dissatisfied with the completeness of data furnished by these Web statistics firms.

The service will allow users to type in specific domains and compare traffic information about ‘.com’ site with the help of natural user searches. The service will also provide information about everyday traffic figures in users from Google and associated sites, searched or visited in the same session.

To make things clear, a fall of 6.1 per cent in comScore’s share is an indication that Google’s competitors are in for unpleasant developments.
