Google Apps Suite Gets Bigger

The administrators of Google Apps have now enlarged their Suite to cater to a larger audience. Google Apps Suite will now include a range of 60 applications, services and tools that do not comprise of the suite or host.

They include favorites among the consumer market such as Picasa, Voice, Blogger, Reader and Maps amongst many. Google Apps will also rope in webmaster tools such as Analytics, AdWords for advertisements and an application platform known as App Engine. This brilliant move will undoubtedly raise the market standards and deliver what users require.

Matthew Cain, an analyst at Gartner said

“It’s smart of Google to leverage its consumer applications portfolio for business benefits. It highlights the convergence of business and consumer services, and creates a competitive advantage over enterprise-only vendors. The key to the announcement, however, is the ability of company administrators to control access to these new services.”

Administrators of these apps will have absolute control over the applications that are activated for users including arranging them according to different groups of users. The Premier, Standard and Education editions would permit application adding. On the flipside, a 99.9% uptime will not be available for these apps as opposed to Google’s Apps.

A total rebranding of the editions of Google Apps Suite will be announced by Google soon.
