Facebook Adds Changes To User Profiles

Facebook had received a lot of complaints from all its users that their friends’ profiles are getting really cluttered. Users complained that they were having trouble finding any kind of relevant information on their friends’ profiles. Users also complained that their own profiles are jumbled, and they had installed a large number of applications, which made it very difficult for them to tidy up their profile. Thus, as a convenience for all its users, Facebook will soon be launching a “profile clean-up” tool. It will be similar to the one in your computer that reminds you to get rid of all the unused icons on your desktop.

This clean up tool will allow users to move any extra profile boxes to an “extended segment” of their profile. It is suggested that users keep Friends Box, Mini-Feed, Basic and Personal Information along with the best 12 application boxes that they have added. Below the profile there will be a link that will say “Show Extended Profile”. Users can enlarge the profile any time they want to see all the applications that he has added to his profile.

This way, the clutter can be removed. Also the profile page loads much faster. This tool will enhance the user experience. However, those application developers who spread their applications virally are not too happy with the news.
