Auto Translate Feature now Available on YouTube.com

In the recent months YouTube has been really trying its level best to make all its videos universally accessible to all its users. Language for instance, is not considered to be a barrier. In August, YouTube was adding captions and subtitles to all the videos in order to reach a larger audience. The site enjoyed considerable success while doing it yet the demand for translations was always ahead of what was actually supplied.

All this may very well change swiftly. YouTube has added a new feature to its site called ‘Auto Translate.’ The basic tool used here is ‘Google Translate.’ It results in the addition of a real-time translation to any caption. Users can now see foreign language videos in English by clicking on the ‘Auto Translate’ button.

This new feature is has the potential to break all boundaries and this fact has excited some of the industrial analysts. It can now be confirmed that the days, when users could not see a favourite video due to the problem of language, are truly gone. This new feature is expected to cater to almost everyone.

YouTube is still in the early stages of development of this feature. It also appreciates that machine translation may not be entirely foolproof. Yet, it is clear that watching videos online has become exceedingly popular and the introduction of this feature would result in the revolutionising of global user experience, hence it should not be undervalued.
