What is driving Search Engine marketing growth?
I draw your attention to the global scenario as far as SEM Industry is concerned, which is very positive. Search Engine marketing (SEM) has no doubt, shown tremendous growth potential and projection globally. In fact, it is estimated that SEM expenditure in North America including the US and Canada will be doubled by 2011 over the 2007levels.
This growth is being driven by various factors like:
• The rapid growth curve in the ad expenditure for SEM has made the top search engines to adopt aggressive and intense marketing strategies.
• In pursuit of larger revenues from the advertisers, the search engines have taken up extensive branding exercises to lure the potential advertisers and also the broad spectrum of internet users to their sites.
• Increased emphasis on hidden branding value of search is another factor. The evident benefit of SEM clearly has attracted advertisers to online ads.
SME focus on search is not a recent phenomenon. But not it is expanding and percolating to ground level. To elaborate, using the Internet is not merely restricted to large enterprises and business entities. Many medium and small enterprises are now turning to this powerful media. This certainly enables them to attain visibility and stand apart from their competitors.
