Google’s effort to get added to the plaintiffs’ list in the Microsoft Antitrust case was paid no attention by the Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, District Judge of the US. The judge clearly declared that Google is not a plaintiff as far as this case is concerned.
The Microsoft Antitrust case involves the District of Columbia, the Federal Government, as well as 17 States in the US. Seeing that the main sections of the landmark 2001 antitrust agreement are about to perish in November 2007, Kollar-Kotelly proposed the extension of Microsoft’s judicial oversight.
Google attempted to be a part in the case, so that it could further push its grievance with reference to the desktop search element installed into Windows Vista. This episode took place even though Microsoft had mentioned earlier about its intention to make alterations that would permit the users to lay similar products from Google and other contenders as their default option.
