Google Adwords set for various improvements

Google has decided to make various changes in its AdWords program. With millions of people using the internet to search for information, buy products online and just surf casually, online marketing has become extremely important. The e-commerce industry is growing steadily with an increasing number of people purchasing products online. Google has realized the power of search engine marketing and hence wants a bigger share in the business.

Google Adwords is a simple but effective way of marketing your products and services online. Google places the ads in the search engines according to the keywords. So whenever a user searches for certain keywords, the ads related to that keyword appear in the search results. When a user clicks on those ads, the advertiser has to pay money to Google for the click. This is known as pay per click advertising.

But Google wants to make the advertising more effective. In this effort, Google is making various changes in its Adwords program. Different people search for different things on the internet. Some people are looking for some information online while some are looking for information on a particular product before buying it. Thus having an advertisement in the second case where a person is interested in buying a product would be much more effective. Suppose person A is looking for “London History” and person B is looking for “Flights to London”. In this case, the person B is more likely to click on ads than person A as the query is commerce related unlike the other one. Google is working on a strategy to make the AdWords ads more relevant and effective. The idea is to make the ads appear only in places where the users are more likely to click them. Irrelevant ads are not only waste of valuable advertising space, but also annoying for the users.
